Ilona Partanen is an illustrator and visual storyteller who’s currently based in Kirkkonummi. She mainly operates with gouache, ink and Ipad. In her work, subconsciousness, mythology and dreamworlds are often mixed. Her style is characterized mainly by strong colour intensity and organic shapes. She loves entwining abstract concepts into concrete entities.
Ilona graduated from the Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts as a graphic designer in 2011 and from Aalto University as a master of arts in 2018. Her clients include the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, Kone Foundation, Paulig and Valio. In addition to illustrating, Partanen is a passionate bookworm and loves doing ceramics and gardening.
