An iconic Finnish company and the northernmost down product manufacturer Joutsen is known for their high-quality down products, but not so much for their patterned products. Until now! As the family-owned company celebrates its 90th anniversary, it was high time to change that. Napa’s pattern master Mirva Malmgren, known for her retro inspired surface and character design which appeals to both children and adults, was selected to create a pattern that celebrates Joutsen products’ softness and the brand’s prosperous journey over the years.
The captivating “Untenmaille” pattern with its soft tones is full of endearing little details that will captivate the family’s youngins for hours. Mirva’s animal characters float in the night sky amidst stars and dreamlike elements creating an airy and soft atmosphere.
To accompany the sleeping bag Joutsen created a reflector based on the “Untenmaille” pattern to illuminate the evening darkness. One of the animal characters from Mirva’s pattern was selected for the reflector which was detached as its own character.
