Annika Hiltunen (b. 1977) is a versatile and strong styled illustrator. Annika studied graphic design at the Karelia University of Applied Sciences and graduated in 2003. After graduating, she worked as a graphic artist and has since moved to be a full time illustrator and an artist. Annika won the Lotus Emilia Design’s pattern design contest in 2014, and has continued her successful co-operation with the company ever since. Annika is particularly well known for a long cooperation with Paletti Oy, one of Finland’s largest postcard firms. Most known tools for her work are pens, paint brushes as well as the computer. Annika loves the rich use of color and sprawling details, and has been very productive illustrator. As a counterweight to all this, she sometimes creates very modest & controlled patterns. Her great passion is pattern design, and in the future it would be great to see her work as a part of everyday life in people’s home textiles – in all forms of everyday life and celebration in the form of design (ask for a link to the material firstname.lastname@example.org).
