Samuli Siirala
Samuli Siirala (b. 1977) is an illustrator who works in the center of Helsinki. Samuli graduated from the Lahti Institute of Design in 2001 as a cinematographer, but eventually ended up in his childhood dream job – as an illustrator. Currently he focuses on drawing, and says his dream commissions require a sense of drama: cover illustrations, posters and unified series of illustrations. Samuli is a versatile illustrator – he draws and paints digitally, but if necessary, may work with watercolors, inks or acrylics. Samuli has made numerous editorial illustrations, advertisements, and textbook illustrations. His customers have included companies (the Helsinki Expo Center, the Lahti Cleantech, etc.), trade unions and organizations (Akava and the Red Cross), as well as magazines (Consumer magazine, Suomen Kuvalehti). Samuli is a pure professional and particularly easy to work with.
